How can a sinner
like me
be the recipient
of such mercy
as this
oh how far down
I have gone
into the depths of selfishness
and despair
I stood there
knocking at the gates of Sheol
just to be pulled up by grace
into the light of love
the balm that heals all wounds
both caused and received
