In the spiritual wilderness, where God feels far away. Nothing feels real. Nothing seems to satisfy.
But this is just a season. It will not last. The Lord is always near and he is always true.
This is not my first time in this place. I have been here before. The scenery changes, but the feelings are all to familiar.
The spiritual wilderness has many names and many manifestations. It has come in many forms in my life over the years. This wilderness is called overcommitment, but it could and has had a hundred other names.
Time in the spiritual wilderness is never meaningless. It always comes with a lesson. God uses these seasons to form us, to teach us, and to shape us.
We need only remain faithful. In spite of the pain, in the face of desolation, and through the lonliness, turn toward God and he will always be there. Your Heavenly Father will never let you down.
