Oratio: Borrowed Troubles

The songbirds sing
their beautiful song
while my mind runs away
with worry
deafened by the noise
of borrowed troubles
I cannot hear them calling me
suddenly
a melody catches my ear
the veil of imagined suffering
is lifted
in this moment
I see the Lord
and the glory of his creation
who am I to worry
when he has chosen me
in love
