Lectio Divina: Whom I Love The Least

“I really only love God as much as I love the person I love the least.”
~Dorothy Day

Reflection:
Who in your life is hardest to love right now, and what might God be inviting you to learn through them about His own unconditional love?

Scripture:
“If anyone says, ‘I love God,’ and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.”
— 1 John 4:20 (ESV)

Thanks Robert. This Lectio Divina has me digging deeper this day. I feel a need to apply forgiveness more rigorously to those I so overtly despise. If I embrace Jesus unconditional love for me through His death, I must realize that death was unconditional for all.

I chose to keep their anonymity, but some that have harmed me, and I now wish to harm. I have to monitor, and pray that I can reach a tolerance level of those. Then, with continued effort make that approach to the next level. It is definitely a challenge with ups and downs frequently.

Powerful, revealing and thought provoking. I like the reflection addition.
