Grappling With Divinity

In the darkness
of silence
I stare into the face of God
staring into me
the cloud of unknowing
divides us
yet we are not apart
I am in Him
He is in me
this divine union
experienced in glimpses
of His unveiled face
out if the corner
of the eye of my heart
when I turn to look
He is gone
but He has not gone
we are one
even though we are not one
we are together
even when I feel alone
