Grappling With Divinity

I withdraw from love’s
warming flame
cowering in isolation
a cold lonliness
chills me to my bones
but this is not His will
this is not my fate
His light calls to me
the flames of His love
draw me out of darkness
warming my soul
burning away my false self
cauterizing my wounds
with grace
until all that remains
is love and light
