Grappling With Divinity

There is no medicine
no treatment
nor worldly cure
for spiritual sickness
it cannot be out-exercised
out-worked
or even out-fought
no amount of effort
thinking
or planning
will heal this aching wound
that aches for but one thing
if left untreated
spiritual sickness is fatal
like a cancer
a heartless malignant force
that spreads
killing everything it touches
destroying relationships
ending careers
crushing dreams
leaving its host with nothing
but a void
a vacuum
an aching wound
that aches for but one thing
