Grappling With Divinity

The first and greatest lie
is that God is a liar
that He is not needed
that He cannot be trusted
that we can do better
of our own power
with our own ideas
of our own effort
many follow this lie
to the ends of the earth
chasing satisfaction
by way of pleasure
but never finding peace
the type of everlasting peace
that only comes from faith
from obedience to God
from submission to the Spirit
from turning toward Christ
and away from our worldly ways
