Grappling With Divinity

My prideful rebellion
rejection of the Lord
the path of desolation
no comfort
no rest
no satisfaction from my labor
my heart longing for peace
yet all of my efforts
desires
affections
resulting only in despair
without hope
without direction
I cried out for mercy
my plea did not go unanswered
